We're spending 2 nights at a beautiful park in Coeur d' Alene. The park is on an island called Blackwell Island. The island sits in the middle of the Spokane River, right at its beginning. Coeure d' Alene Lake drains into the Spokane River. The end of the island faces the lake and the Spokane flows around the island.
We were fortunate enough to get one of the few sites that is right on the river. A narrow park separates us from the water. We're finding it very relaxing to just sit outside our trailer and watch all the boats go by (the marina must be just downstream from us).
As soon as we were set up, we hopped in the truck and headed for Spokane (about 25 miles away). We haven't been near a Camping World or a Trader Joe's in 6 weeks and Spokane has both.

For dinner, we walked to a floating restaurant that sits in the lake off the end of the island.

Looking downstream from the bridge. The building with the blue roof is the same one that I showed from our site 2 pictures back so our site must be just around the bend to the left. |

Baby geese on the walk back to our trailer. We didn't see many geese during the day but, when I looked outside at dusk, there must have been several hundred between our trailer and the river. |
On our only full day here, we explored Coeur d' Alene and, after grabbing some lunch downtown, returned to our trailer to do a few chores and enjoy our wonderful outdoor space.

Tomorrow, we're off to Leavenworth, WA.
